The Sd.Kfz.9 half-track tractors were produced in 1939-1945 at the FAMO, Vomag and Tatra plants. A total of about 2,500 were built. Length 14.4 m. Drive Maybach twelve-cylinder gasoline engine with 270 HP. Speed on the road 50 km / h. These vehicles worked very well as heavy artillery tractors and as repair and evacuation vehicles, especially for heavy tanks of the Tiger type. Some of them were equipped with a transport pack with a length of 14.4 m and a load capacity of 26 tons, or a crane with a lifting capacity of 10 tons. The crane was intended for repair work on tanks and other equipment. Versions with 8.8 cm anti-aircraft guns were also in use. The number of service people depended on the task to be performed. The preserved copies are in the National Military Museum in Bucharest and in a private collection in the Czech Republic.
