Description

VW Type 82 Kubelwagen were produced in the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg in the years 1940-1945, prototypes were built in 1938. The progenitor of the Kűbelwagen was the now popular VW Beetle designed by Ferdinand Porsche. In total, the Germans produced almost 50,000 cars in various versions: the most numerous (37,320 units) was the four-seater Kfz all-terrain vehicle. 1. There was also a version of the Kfz.2 communications car, the Kfz.3 observation vehicle. and a Kfz.2 / 4 workshop car. 3.74 m long, 1.6 m wide. Where does the name kűbelwagen come from? Well, kűbel simply means bucket. In the car in question, the shape of the seats resembled buckets (kűbelsitze). Seat belts had not yet been invented at that time and this type of seat shape prevented the driver and passengers from falling out while driving over uneven terrain. Drive: gasoline engine with 23 HP or 25 HP depending on the version. The speed on the road is 80 km / h.

These cars were widely used during the war, starting from the September campaign in Poland. They were used by the Germans on all fronts.

The Kűbelwagens are perhaps the most famous military vehicles of the war. Many of these vehicles are in museums of military technology and in private collections.
