The submarine ORP Sep (twin ORP Orzeł) was built at the Dutch shipyard Rotterdamsche from August 1936 to April 1939. Propulsion: two diesels 4,740hp or two electric motors 1,100hp, 19.4 / 8.9 knots surface / underwater speed. A crew of 60 officers and sailors. Armament: 105 mm cannon, 40 mm twin cannon, one twin 13.2 mm AA machine gun, 12 torpedo tubes. Draft up to 100 m. Due to the expected outbreak of war, Sęp was forcibly taken out of the shipyard by the Polish crew before the official reception and taken to Gdynia. In the first phase of the war, he defended the Polish coast. The destroyer Kriegsmarine was unsuccessfully attacked with torpedoes, after which the destroyer, U-boat U 14 and the Kriegsmarine surface ships attacked Vulture unsuccessfully. Slightly damaged, it sailed to Sweden, where he was interned with the crew until the end of the war. In October 1945, the ship returned to Gdynia and resumed service in the Navy. In 1964, during a voyage, a fire broke out in which 8 sailors were killed. After a year of renovation, he returned to service, but never submerged again. In 1969, Sęp was decommissioned and scrapped in 1970-1971. What is left of ORP Sęp is the hatch, which is exhibited at the Naval Museum in Gdynia.
