HMS Beagle - Mamoli MM3

HMS Beagle was built in 1817. Class: shoulder. Length: approx. 28 m. Equipment: 8 cannons (before conversion). Originally used as a coastal vessel, it was later converted to a research vessel and adapted for research in the remote Pacific and Atlantic lands. During the reconstruction, a stern mast was added to ensure better maneuverability among the coral reefs and Pacific islands. The peaceful nature of the expedition forced the dismantling of weapons. On December 27, 1831, the sailing ship left the English Plymouth for a long journey. He had one of the world's most famous scientists on board, Charles Darwin. This researcher, through various experiences and observations collected during the voyage, developed the famous theory of evolution.
